The Puckipuppy Beagle 2 ST is the step-thru version of the bike we recently reviewed and it addresses the biggest shortcomings we had about the first generation.

The Beagle ST is now equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and a step-thru frame, which is great for shorter people. Other than those to welcome changes, the specs look pretty much the same as the original.

The Puckipuppy Beagle 2 ST is equipped with a 48-volt battery that gives the bike a range of up to 60 miles in one of the five pedal assist modes. Thanks to the 750-watt rear hub motor, the top speed is 28 mph while pedaling. And when using the thumb throttle to move without pedaling, the top speed is 20 mph.

Like its predecessor, the Beagle 2 ST uses a bombproof 1×7 Shimano drivetrain. Unlike the first gen Beagle, version 2 is outfitted with hydraulic disc brakes.

An adjustable suspension fork helps mellow out the bumps, while front and rear fenders wrap around the 26×4-inch tires to keep water and road grime from hitting the rider.

A headlight and rear rack round out the eBike’s features.

The Puckipuppy Beagle ST 2 weighs 66 pounds and has a payload capacity of 400 pounds. It comes in Pearl Blue, Pink, Black and White colors and currently sells for $1,199.99 at puckipuppy.com. A high-step version is also available.
