Heybike Hybrid eBike
The Heybike Hybrid is a long-range commuter eBike designed for riders who need power, payload capacity, and extended range that retails for less than $2,000.
The Hybrid’s 750W rear hub motor (Galaxy eDrive System) delivers 75 N·m of torque and peaks at 1,200 watts, with a top speed of 28 mph. What distinguishes the Hybrid’s pedal assist is its dual-sensor system, which allows riders to toggle between cadence mode for a light, effortless boost and torque mode for natural, proportional power delivery. The Heybike app lets riders independently customize the top speed for each of the five PAS levels, as well as the throttle speed, and toggle between Class 2 and Class 3 modes. Three preset riding profiles — Eco (Class 2), Sport (Class 3), and Custom — are accessible directly from the app’s home screen.
At 864Wh, the Hybrid carries the largest battery in Heybike’s commuter lineup, with a maximum range of up to 100 miles per charge as tested with a 155-pound rider in PAS 1. The included 54.6V 3A charger handles recharging. The bike is UL 2849 (whole bike) and UL 2271 (battery) certified.
The Hybrid rolls on Kenda 27.5 x 2.4-inch tires mounted to a 6061 aluminum alloy frame with a hydraulic front suspension fork with 100mm of travel, adjustable stiffness, and a lockout function. Stopping is handled by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors. A Shimano Altus 8-speed drivetrain (12–32T) manages the gearing. The front light includes a horn, and the rear light integrates both a brake light and turn signals. A rear rack rated for 66 pounds, front and rear fenders, and an LCD color display with Heybike app connectivity (iOS & Android) are all included standard.
The Hybrid weighs 69 pounds and supports a maximum payload of 440 pounds including the rider. Recommended rider height is 5’3″ to 6’2″ with an inseam of 31.5″ to 38.8″.
