Ride1Up Revv1 EVO Moped-Style eBike
The Ride1Up Revv1 EVO is a moped-style full-suspension eBike built around the Revv1 platform’s most significant upgrade yet: a semi-solid state battery that charges in 2 hours and is rated for more than twice the cycle life of a standard lithium-ion battery.
The headline feature of the EVO, compared to every other Revv1 model, is its 52V 20Ah semi-solid-state battery. Where standard e-bike batteries use a liquid electrolyte that can destabilize under puncture, crush, or thermal stress, the EVO’s semi-solid battery uses a gel electrolyte that is structurally stable under the same conditions. The battery has passed puncture, crush, thermal, and short-circuit testing without incident.
Ride1Up rates the battery for 1,200+ cycles to 80% capacity, compared to roughly 500 cycles for standard lithium-ion, and the included 9A smart charger takes it from 0 to 100% in 2 hours. The smart BMS provides real-time cell-level diagnostics on the HD color display. Cold-weather performance is rated to 70% capacity at -20°C.
The EVO’s motor is a 52V 750W Bafang hub motor with 100 N·m of torque, managed by a 52V 40A CANBUS controller. Top speed is 28+ mph on pedal assist in Class 3 mode and on throttle in Class 2 mode; an unlocked off-road mode is available for private property use. Pedal assist uses Ride1Up’s R1CBC current-based cadence sensor system across customizable PAS levels displayed on the HD color screen.
The EVO runs full suspension: a double-crown fork with 160mm of travel, preload, and rebound adjustment up front, and a DNM rear air shock with 90mm of travel out back. Stopping is courtesy of 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear, with electric motor cutoff.
The bike rolls on Vee Huntsman 20 x 4-inch all-terrain fat tires; the same all-surface tire used across the Revv1 lineup. A right-hand twist throttle, 720mm handlebar with 22-degree sweep and 160mm rise, and MTB-style pedals are all included.
The two-passenger saddle supports a 400-pound payload capacity. Integrated moto-style front lighting delivers 1,000 lux with high/low beams; integrated rear lights include brake lights and turn signals. Hardened plastic moto-style fenders are included front and rear. A rear rack and handle are available separately for $100.
Compared to the Revv1 DRT, the EVO is lighter (90 vs 95+ lbs), carries a higher payload (400 vs 330 lbs), and charges in 2 hours vs 5–7 hours. It is suitable for riders 5’2″ to 6’4″ and arrives 90% pre-assembled.
