Aventon Ramblas ADV eMTB
The Aventon Ramblas ADV is a second-generation electric hardtail mountain bike built around Aventon’s A100 mid-drive motor, adding tubeless-ready tires, a refined motor, and an upgraded dropper post over the original Ramblas at a price that remains under $3,000.
The Ramblas ADV is powered by the second-generation Aventon A100 mid-drive motor, which is the same unit in the Aventure M and Current lineup, and rated at 250W sustained and 750W peak with 100 N·m of torque at the motor shaft. Aventon has refined the A100 for the ADV iteration, specifically improving motor quietness and low-speed response compared to the motor in the original Ramblas. Three fully customizable pedal assist modes (Eco (60 N·m), Trail (75 N·m), and Turbo (100 N·m)) are independently tunable via the Aventon app for torque output and pedal response speed. And an Auto mode reads terrain in real time and adjusts assist automatically to match.
The bike ships as Class 1 with pedal assist to 20 mph; Class 3 at 28 mph is unlockable via the app. The 708Wh integrated battery uses LG 21700 cells and carries a claimed range of up to 90 miles. Walk Mode and Hold Mode are included for pushing or stabilizing the bike on steep terrain.
Component selection is the other headline story. The RockShox Psylo Silver R fork brings 130mm of travel and 35mm stanchions, though it lacks compression adjustment, which reviewers have flagged as limiting for riders over 220 pounds. Stopping is handled by SRAM DB6 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 200mm front and 180mm rear Centerline rotors, a step down from the DB8s on the original Ramblas, but still a 4-piston setup that has drawn no complaints in trail testing.
The drivetrain is SRAM NX/SX Eagle 12-speed with a 34T chainring and 11-50T cassette, provide a gear range well suited to both steep climbs and road commuting. The Rambles rolls on Maxxis Rekon 29 x 2.4-inch tires on tubeless-compatible rims, allowing riders to run lower pressures for improved traction and flat resistance.
An X-Fusion Manic LC 150mm dropper post is included on all sizes, with a matchmaker-mount remote that integrates cleanly with the brake levers. The frame is 6061 aluminum alloy with SRAM UDH compatibility and 12x148mm boost dropouts — standard industry spec throughout, with full aftermarket upgrade compatibility.
The Ramblas ADV is available in three sizes: S (29″ wheels on some configurations use 27.5″ on the Small), M, and L, which will fit riders from approximately 5’3″ to 6’3″+. The full-color display shows speed, power mode, battery percentage, and time, with each mode indicated by a distinct color. Integrated seat stay taillights are standard. No fenders or rack are available for the Ramblas platform. The bike weighs approximately 54 pounds and supports a maximum payload of 300 pounds. It is UL 2849 certified.
The Aventon Ramblas ADV retails for $2,899 at aventon.com and comes with free shipping, a 14-day return window, and a 2-year warranty. Aventon has 1,800+ authorized dealer locations for in-person service.
