Lacros Trekon Fat Tire eBike

By FloridaBicyclist

The Lacros Trekon is an all-terrain fat tire eBike built around a 750W Bafang rear hub motor, a torque sensor, and a 48V 20Ah Samsung battery. The combination is designed for riders who want an eBike that can handle paved roads as well as gravel, dirt trails, hills, and other uneven terrain.

The Trekon uses 26 x 4-inch Kenda puncture-resistant fat tires, giving the bike a wide contact patch for riding on loose or uneven surfaces. A 60mm adjustable oil suspension fork is also included to help absorb bumps on rougher terrain.

The 750W Bafang motor produces up to 85Nm of torque, while the torque sensor adjusts motor assistance based on the rider’s pedaling effort. The bike has a thumb throttle for additional motor assistance when needed and is rated for speeds up to 28 mph on Level 5 pedal assist.

Power comes from a 48V 20Ah Samsung battery using 18650 cells. Lacros lists a maximum range of up to 80 miles, although actual range will vary depending on rider weight, terrain, speed, assist level, temperature, and other conditions. The battery is rated at 800 cycles and has an IPX5 water-resistance rating.

The Trekon also comes equipped with fully hydraulic disc brakes using 180mm rotors front and rear. Integrated front and rear lighting includes turn signals, while the bike’s NFC security system requires a personal NFC card to unlock the bike.

A Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, adjustable saddle, rear cargo rack, full-coverage mudguards, and adjustable aluminum stem give the Trekon equipment suited to both recreational riding and everyday use.
