Heybike Ranger S eBike
The Heybike Ranger S is a folding fat tire eBike designed for versatile use on pavement, trails, and everything in between that retails for just over $1,000.
The Ranger S is available in two motor configurations. The 1000W version peaks at 1,800 watts, delivers 100 Nm of torque, and can push the bike to speeds above 28 mph. The 750W version peaks at 1,400 watts, delivers 80 Nm of torque, and tops out at 28 mph.
Both versions are powered by a 48V 14.4Ah (692Wh) removable battery with a maximum range of up to 55 miles per charge. A 48V 4A fast charger is included. A smart LCD display shows speed, battery level, and pedal assist level, and the bike supports app control for adjusting PAS level speeds. There are 5 PAS levels plus a throttle option.
A key differentiator between the two versions is the sensor type: the 1000W Ranger S uses a torque sensor for near-instant, proportional power delivery, while the 750W version uses a cadence sensor. Both are paired with a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain. The 1000W version also features hydraulic disc brakes for more confident stopping power; the 750W version uses mechanical disc brakes.
The Ranger S rolls on 20 x 4.0-inch fat tires mounted to an aluminum alloy step-thru frame with a hydraulic front suspension fork. The foldable design collapses to 40 x 20 x 31 inches, making it easy to stow in a car trunk or apartment. An integrated LED headlight and taillight, a rear rack rated for up to 120 pounds, front and rear fenders, and a kickstand are all included standard.
The bike meets IPX4 standards overall, with the motor, battery, and display rated to IP64. The Ranger S weighs approximately 72 pounds and supports a maximum payload of 400 pounds including the rider. Recommended rider height is 4’11” to 6’3″.
