Heybike Cityrun eBike
The Heybike Cityrun is a step-thru urban commuter eBike designed for city streets and neighborhood riding that retails for les than $1,000.
The Cityrun’s brushless geared rear hub motor is rated at 500W sustained and peaks at 1,000 watts with 55 Nm of torque, and can move the bike to a top speed of 21 mph. The UL 2271-recognized 48V 15Ah (720Wh) removable battery promises a range of up to 55 miles per charge and charges fully with the included 48V 4A charger.
A smart LCD display shows speed, battery level, and pedal assist level, and the bike supports app control for adjusting PAS level speeds. There are 5 PAS levels plus a throttle option.
The Cityrun rides on 26 x 2.5-inch anti-puncture tires mounted to an aluminum alloy step-thru frame with a hydraulic front suspension fork for absorbing road impacts. Stopping is handled by hydraulic disc brakes. A Shimano 7-speed drivetrain is in charge of the gearing.
The headlight features an auto-on function that activates when ambient light drops, which can be toggled off via the handlebar controls if preferred. A taillight with integrated turn signals, a rear rack rated for up to 120 pounds, and an alloy kickstand are all included. Front and rear fender mounts are built into the frame, though fenders are sold separately.
The Cityrun weighs approximately 61.7 pounds and supports a maximum payload of 350 pounds including the rider. Recommended rider height is 5’4″ to 6’5″.
