ENVO X50 Electric Bike
The ENVO X50 is a Canadian-engineered step-over commuter and cargo eBike designed for comfort, upright riding, and everyday versatility that retails for $2,406.
Built on ENVO’s 50 Series platform, the X50 shares its core powertrain with the D50 and ST50: a 750W peak (500W rated) brushless geared rear hub motor delivering 80 N·m of torque, with a torque sensor plus cadence sensor combination for smooth, natural power delivery that responds proportionally to pedaling effort. Top speed is 32 km/h (20 mph) in Class 2 configuration.
The 48V 15Ah battery built with LG Li-Ion cells provides a rated range of up to 150 km (93 miles) on pedal assist, or 70 km (43 miles) in pure electric mode, and features CANBUS communication between the battery, controller, and display for real-time battery cell health monitoring and smart charging diagnostics. The battery can be charged on or off the frame using the included 54V 2A smart charger. A second battery can be added as a range extender, compatible with the shared 50 Series battery ecosystem.
Where the X50 differs from the D50 is in geometry and intended use: ENVO positions it as a more relaxed, comfortable ride with a lower step-over height and a more upright riding position, making it well suited for city commuting and leisure riding rather than the D50’s more aggressive all-terrain posture.
The X50 rolls on CST C1820 27.5 x 2.35-inch tires on a hydroformed 6061 aluminum alloy TIG-welded frame with a 29-inch suspension fork offering 80mm of travel and lockout. Tektro E3520 hydraulic disc brakes handle stopping, and a Shimano Alivio 9-speed drivetrain (48T chainring, 11-36 cassette) manages the gearing — the same spec as the D50.
The handlebar is 700mm wide with a 9-degree back sweep for an ergonomic, upright position. Double-walled alloy fenders, an adjustable rear kickstand, and a Smart Color Display with Bluetooth for ENVO app connectivity are all included standard. The X50 comes with a rear cargo package rated for 85kg (187 lbs) and a front carrier, making it a capable daily hauler. Maximum payload is 200kg (440 lbs), and the bike is UL 2849 certified.
The ENVO X50 retails for $2,406 at envodrive.com and ships within 3–7 business days. It is available in Class 2 (20 mph, for road use) or Class 3 configuration. A 1-year warranty is included.
