Aventon Level 4 REC eBike
The Aventon Level 4 REC is a feature-loaded urban commuter eBike and the fourth generation of Aventon’s most popular Level platform, introducing two standout firsts for the lineup: regenerative braking and a 750W motor.
The Level 4 REC runs a 750W rear hub motor — up from the 500W system in the Level 3 — peaking at 1,188W with 80 N·m of torque. It pairs with a selectable torque sensor or cadence sensor, 4 levels of pedal assist, a thumb throttle, and a Boost mode that unlocks 120% of max torque for up to 30 seconds. Top speed is 28 mph.
The regenerative braking system captures energy under braking and coasting and feeds it back to the battery, with real-time regen output visible on the display; Aventon reports approximately 3–5% efficiency gains per ride in early data. The 36V 20Ah (733Wh) removable LG 21700-cell battery is keylessly released through the display or app, delivers a maximum range of up to 75 miles, and is cross-compatible with other current Aventon ACU-equipped models. A 42V 4A fast charger is included.
The Level 4 REC ships fully equipped for commuting: integrated front LED headlight, integrated tail and brake lights, orange turn signals, rear fender, front fender, rear cargo rack, and a thumb throttle are all included in the box.
The ACU smart security module provides 4G GPS tracking, geofencing, motion detection alarm with push notifications, remote hub motor lockout (preventing engagement even if someone rides away with the bike), Lost Mode to deactivate electrical systems remotely, and PIN start lockout — one of the most comprehensive security packages available on any production commuter eBike. Security settings, pedal assist tuning, motor customization per PAS level, and display preferences are all managed through the Aventon app (iOS & Android).
The gravity-cast front triangle gives the Level 4 REC smooth, weld-free lines and a premium finish. Up front is an 80mm coil spring suspension fork with lockout and a 15x100mm thru-axle. A 50mm suspension seatpost absorbs road buzz for long-ride comfort.
Stopping is handled by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors and motor cutoff sensors — enabling the integrated brake light functionality. Shifting is managed by a Shimano 8-speed drivetrain. The bike rolls on Kenda Kwick Seven-5 Sport 27.5 x 2.2-inch tires on 36-spoke double-wall aluminum wheels. The 680mm handlebar mounts to a 90-degree adjustable stem.
The REC weighs approximately 71 pounds and supports a maximum payload of 300 pounds. It is IPX5 rated and UL 2849 and UL 2271 certified.
The Aventon Level 4 REC is available in high-step and step-through frame styles in Regular and Large sizes, fitting riders from 4’11” to 6’4″, in Stellar Black, Cobalt, and Deep Navy colorways.
