The Aventon Current ADV is the aluminum-frame sibling of the Current EXP, sharing the same Ultro X motor, 800Wh battery, geometry, and suspension travel at $1,400 less.

The Current ADV runs the same Aventon Ultro X mid-drive motor as the EXP — 750W peak, 110 N·m of torque, 850W and 120 N·m in Boost mode — paired with the same torque sensor, four pedal assist modes, and app-unlockable Class 3 top speed of 28 mph. The 800Wh integrated battery and claimed 105-mile range carry over unchanged, as does the ACU smart security suite with 4G GPS tracking, geofencing, motion alarm, remote wheel lock, Lost Mode, and PIN start.

Where the ADV steps down from the EXP is in frame material and components. The full aluminum 6061 alloy frame adds approximately 3 pounds over the EXP’s carbon/aluminum mixed construction, bringing the ADV to approximately 56 pounds. The suspension is a RockShox Psylo Gold fork with 150mm of travel up front — one tier below the EXP’s Lyrik Select — paired with the same RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ rear shock and 140mm of rear wheel travel on the same 4-bar layout.

Stopping is handled by SRAM DB8 Stealth 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 200mm rotors front and rear — a step down from the EXP’s Maven Base brakes but still a 4-piston setup with the same rotor size, and strong enough that reviewers have had no complaints about stopping power in trail use. The drivetrain steps down from the EXP’s wireless SRAM S1000 AXS Transmission to SRAM Eagle 70 Transmission, which is mechanically shifted but still chain-free and uses a 12-speed cassette with a wide-range gear spread.

An X-Fusion Manic LT dropper post is included (150mm on S/M, 170mm on L/XL). Tires are Maxxis Minion DHF/DHR II 29 x 2.6-inch in EXO casing, tubeless ready — same as the EXP. The touchscreen color display, wheel lift control, jump tracking, and all app features carry over from the EXP. Aventon locks Class 3 mode on the ADV to Class 2 only; Class 3 unlock is not available on this model.

The Current ADV is available in four sizes (S, M, L, XL) fitting riders from approximately 5’3″ to 6’4″+, and is UL 2849 certified. No fenders or rack are available for the Current platform. The frame is built to standard industry spec — standard boost spacing, ZS56 headset, tapered fork — for full aftermarket compatibility.

Riders who want wireless shifting and a carbon front triangle should step up to the Current EXP at $5,999. For everyone else, the ADV delivers the same motor, battery, suspension travel, geometry, and trail capability at $4,599 — making it one of the strongest value propositions in the full-suspension eMTB category at any price.
