MOD City+ Step-Thru 3 Foldable eBike
The MOD City+ Step-Thru 3 is a step-through foldable eBike inspired by British military bikes of the 1940s, built for riders who want a compact, transit-ready commuter that doesn’t give up comfort or capability to get there.
The City+ Step-Thru 3 runs MOD’s 750W geared hub motor with 69 N·m of torque through a torque sensor pedal assist system with five programmable riding modes. Class 2 at 20 mph ships as default; Class 3 at 28 mph is unlockable via the display menu. A thumb throttle provides on-demand boost with or without pedal assist.
The Samsung Li-ion 48V 15Ah (720Wh) battery carries UL 2271 certification, is removable for indoor charging, and is dual battery compatible. Adding a second battery via the Snap-On Rack extends range from 50 miles to 100 miles with a manual swap. The MOD BIKES S3 Smart Color Display includes a USB charging port, automatic headlight activation in low ambient light, and a 4-digit password lock. Charging takes 3–6 hours with the included 2A automatic smart charger.
The step-through low-entry frame folds at the stem and main joint for compact storage, with foldable pedals further reducing the footprint. The adjustable up-and-down stem accommodates a wide range of rider heights without tools, and the low step-through entry makes mounting and dismounting easy, whether the bike is loaded or not.
Dual suspension pairs a front fork with 50mm of travel, preload adjustment, and lockout with a suspension seatpost delivering 40mm of travel . The bike rolls on Kenda K-Shield 20 x 3.0-inch multi-terrain tires with puncture protection on aluminum alloy rims. Stopping is handled by dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors, motor inhibitors, and adjustable reach levers.
The Shimano Altus 7-speed derailleur with LT-WOO trigger shifter and DNP 11-32T freewheel manages gearing. A multi-purpose Snap-On rear rack with 65-pound capacity, a 300-lumen LED headlight, integrated LED taillight with wireless brake light, a heavy-duty adjustable kickstand, faux leather ergonomic grips, a Selle Royal premium gel saddle, and MOD Connect for wireless Lumos helmet integration are all included standard.
The City+ Step-Thru 3 weighs 65 pounds, supports a payload of 275 pounds, and fits riders from 5’0″ to 6’9″. It is HSA/FSA eligible and received a 2025 Best City Bike recognition from Rolling Stone Magazine.
