Talon T757 moped-style eBike review
The Talon T757 moped-style eBike is a fun and affordable machine, perfectly suited for tooling around town and doing wheelies.
The T57 is built on a Carbon Steel Frame with 20″ puncture-resistant tires. It comes with front and rear fenders and a moto-style headlight.
The 750-watt rear-hub motor can push the bike up to 28 mph and the Shimano tourney rear derailleur has 7 speeds. A cadence sensor tells the motor when to kick when pedalling. A removable 48 Volt 13 Amp Hour battery gives the bike an advertised range of 40 miles per charge.

At the rear of the bike, a 50mm Spring shock helps keep the ride smooth, while a 120mm suspension fork handles the front. The bike is equipped with rear footpegs for a passenger and mechanical disc brakes.
The long seat can accommodate two passengers and up to 330 pounds of weight. The cockpit features a twist throttle, Shimano trigger shifter, and LED display. On the left, a button cluster provides input for power, pedal assist, lights, and horn.
To turn on the bike, hold down the power button and then unlock the bike using the included NFC card. A password can also be used to unlock the bike, but you’ll need to contact Talon for access to that. The bike comes with two NFC cards, so you can keep one safe and use the other.
Once powered on, press the plus or minus buttons to select one of 5 pedal assist levels. A press of the power button allows you to cycle through Odometer, Trip, Voltage, and Current data. The light and horn are controlled by their own buttons, which is a nice touch.
The light is illuminated when the bike is turned on, but the intensity can be increased for nighttime riding by pressing the button. The rear light illuminates when the headlight is turned on, and the brake light engages when the brakes are applied, both of which are nice safety features.
The T757 alos has a walking mode. To use that, hold down the the down PAS button and the bike will move at about 3 miles per hour until the button is released. This mode is useful for walking the bike up a hill.
The bike has a top speed of 28mph in both pedal assist and throttle mode. One Unique feature is that throttle mode is limited by the PAS level. In PAS 1 the top speed is about 12 miles per hour. The top speed in PAS 2 is about 16/ three gets you up to 20. four hits just under 24 and 5 tops out at 28 miles per hour.
The battery is locked into the frame, but is easy to remove for charging off the bike. The battery has a built-in charge indicator and a protective cover over the charging port. The charger’s LED glows red when charging and green when fully charged. A full charge takes about 6 hours.
The bike comes with everything you need to put it together and comes 85% assembled. The assembly process was incredibly easy and took less than an hour.
If you’ve never ridden a moped-style bike before, you might not see the appeal. But the truth is, this is a fun little bike! There’s room for a passenger, there’s a mounting point for a rear rack, and if you’re up for it, it can definitely do wheelies.
I really like the always-on headlight, the front-wheel quick release, NFC unlock, and the fact that it comes with rear foot pegs.
My biggest complaint about the bike is one that applies to every moped-style bike, since there’s no seat height adjustment, pedaling isn’t ideal. While the mechanical disc brakes work, I’d much rather see hydraulic brakes, but at $650, I really can’t complain.
