The Velotric Summit 2 is a tech-heavy eBike built for riders who want a single bike capable of weekday commuting and weekend trail riding. The bike pairs a 750W motor and 801.6Wh battery with an RST air suspension fork and a Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain.

The Summit 2 runs a 750W rear hub motor with 1,300W peak output and 100 N·m of torque, which is the highest torque figure in the Velotric lineup. A unique SensorSwap allows for toggling between torque sensor and cadence sensor modes.

Five pedal assist levels plus a throttle enable the bike to top out at 28 mph in Class 3; Class 2 at 20 mph ships as default. The Summit 2 includes a heart rate monitor strap that uses the bike’s Pulse Mode to automatically adjust pedal assist to target specific training zones.

The 48V 16.7Ah (801.6Wh) Samsung/LG 21700 battery is IPX7 rated and UL 2271 certified, with a claimed range of up to 95 miles in Eco mode. Independent testing has returned 35–78 miles across different assist levels in real-world conditions.

The headline component upgrade from the original Summit is the RST Vibe air suspension fork: 120mm of travel, adjustable air pressure tuned to rider weight, adjustable rebound, lockout for pavement efficiency, and a 15x110mm boost thru-axle. Most similarly priced hybrid eBikes use entry-level coil spring forks. The 27.5 x 2.4-inch Kenda knobby tires on the 100mm boost thru-axle rear wheel complete a wheel and tire package suited for both paved and unpaved surfaces.

The Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain with an 11–46T cassette replaces the Altus setup from the original Summit and provides a wide enough gear range for steep climbs. Shimano MT200 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors handle stopping. The Summit 2’s brakes do not include motor cutoff sensors.

An adjustable stem, wider handlebar, and revised geometry that improves seat tube angle and riding position round out the updated frame, which uses triple-butted 6061 aluminum alloy construction in step-over format only. Front and rear fenders, integrated 500-lumen LED front light, turn signals with brake indicators, and pre-fabbed rear rack mounts (rack sold separately) are all included standard.

The left-mounted full-color display offers NFC unlock, a USB port for charging devices and Bluetooth conenction to the Velotric app, which allows SensorSwap, motor tuning, Pulse Mode, and Class 3 unlock. Apple Find My / Android Find Hub integration are also included.

The bike weighs approximately 56 pounds and supports a maximum payload of 330 pounds. It fits riders in Regular (~5’2″–5’9″) and Large (~5’8″–6’3″) sizes.
