Velotric Nomad 2X Full-Suspension Fat Tire eBike
The Velotric Nomad 2X is a full-suspension fat tire eBike built for all-terrain riding and heavy-duty hauling, pairing dual air suspension with a 105 N·m motor, 801.6Wh battery, and a 560-pound payload capacity.
The Nomad 2X runs a 750W rear hub motor with 1,400W peak output and 105 N·m of torque. SensorSwap lets riders toggle between torque sensor mode for natural, effort-proportional assist on technical terrain and cadence sensor mode for effortless, consistent assist on longer rides.
Three riding modes (Eco, Trail, and Boost) work across five pedal-assist levels plus a trigger-control removable throttle. The bike ships as a Class 2, with a top speed of 20 mph, but that can be changed via the display or Velotric app, enabling a top speed of 28 mph.
The 48V 16.7Ah (801.6Wh) Samsung/LG 21700 battery is IPX7 rated and UL 2271 certified. Velotric claims 75 miles on pedal assist and 50 miles on throttle only; real-world testing has returned 26 miles at maximum Boost and 65 miles at Eco PAS 3. Apple Find My integration and OTA app updates are standard.
What distinguishes the Nomad 2X from the Nomad 2 is its suspension. An air suspension fork with 120mm of travel, adjustable rebound, and lockout handles the front, while a DNM 38mm air shock provides 80mm of rear-wheel travel through the triple-butted aluminum alloy frame’s rear linkage. Both shocks are tunable to rider weight via a shock pump, allowing the 2X to be dialed in for everything from loaded cargo runs to trail riding.
The 26 x 4.0-inch Kenda fat tires on double-wall alloy rims complete the comfort and traction package. Stopping is handled by Tektro 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes with a 203mm front rotor and 180mm rear. The Shimano Acera 8-speed drivetrain uses a 48T chainring and 11–40T cassette. A 3.5-inch full-color adjustable-angle display, 130-lux / 500-lumen integrated LED headlight with light-sensing activation, USB-C charging port, integrated rear lighting with turn signals, MIK HD rear rack, and front and rear fenders are all included standard.
The Nomad 2X weighs approximately 80–87 pounds, depending on configuration, and supports a 560-pound payload. It is available in high-step and step-through frame styles in Regular and Large sizes, fitting riders from approximately 4’11” to more than 6’5″.
