Velotric Fold 1 Plus Folding eBike
The Velotric Fold 1 Plus is a folding fat tire eBike that punches well above the folding category’s typical limitations by pairing a 750W motor, 608Wh battery, and a 450-pound payload capacity with a tool-free folding system that takes under a minute to set up.
The Fold 1 Plus is powered by a 750W rear hub motor with 75 N·m of torque and uses SensorSwap, Velotric’s system for switching between torque sensor mode and cadence sensor mode on the fly. Three riding modes, Eco, Trail, and Boost, cover a range of riding scenarios across five pedal assist levels plus a thumb throttle. Top speed has been measured at 33+ mph in independent testing with pedal assist and 31+ mph on throttle only, making it one of the fastest folding eBikes available. Class 2 at 20 mph ships as default; Class 3 is unlockable via the Velotric app, along with Apple Find My integration and full motor customization, including separate throttle and pedal assist speed tuning and adjustable brake light behavior.
The 48V 13.4Ah (608Wh) battery is IPX7 rated and UL 2271 certified; Velotric claims up to 68 miles of range based on a 187-pound rider in Eco mode on flat terrain. Real-world testing for riders over 200 pounds using mixed throttle and pedal assist has returned approximately 39–40 miles.
The front suspension fork has 60mm of travel with 34mm stanchions providing a stiffer, more responsive handling front end. The frame folds tool-free at the main joint and stem, and arrives fully folded from the factory; setup requires only unfolding, inflating the tires, and charging the battery.
Hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors and motor cutoff sensors handle stopping. The Shimano 7-speed drivetrain uses a 52T chainring and 11–28T cassette with Shimano trigger shifters. The Fold 1 Plus rolls on 20 x 3.0-inch tires on double-wall alloy rims.
A 130-lux adjustable LED headlight, brake-activated taillight with cockpit-controlled turn signals, front and rear fenders, a rear rack rated for 120 pounds, ergonomic lockable grips, and a Velotric urban comfort ergonomic saddle are all included standard. The bike weighs 63 pounds without the battery and supports a maximum payload of 450 pounds.
