Aventon Soltera 3 ADV eBike
The Aventon Soltera 3 ADV is a lightweight, minimalist city eBike that pays homage to Aventon’s fixed-gear roots while adding modern electric assist and a Gates Carbon Belt Drive.
At 37 pounds, the Soltera is 20% lighter than its predecessor and one of the lightest eBikes available at its price point. The bike is built around simplicity: a single-speed drivetrain, no throttle, no suspension, and no removable battery — all deliberate choices that keep parts counts low, maintenance minimal, and weight down.
The Gates Carbon Belt Drive replaces the traditional chain entirely, eliminating grease, rust, and chain-lube stops while lasting 2–3 times longer. The 60T chainring and 22T flywheel are geared specifically for the Soltera’s Class 1 top speed of 20 mph on 700c wheels, hitting that ceiling at a natural cadence of 75–90 RPM for the average fitness rider.
Power comes from a 36V 250W brushless rear hub motor with a 500W peak and 40 N·m of torque, paired with a double-sided torque sensor for natural, immediate pedal response. Three pedal assist modes — Eco, Sport, and Turbo — let riders balance range and power via the BC147 color LCD display or the Aventon app, which adds GPS ride tracking, over-the-air firmware updates, motor customization, and Boost Mode (up to 120% of max torque for 30 seconds).
The 36V 9.94Ah (366.8Wh) battery is fully integrated into the downtube for a clean, stealth aesthetic. It is not designed for quick removal but can be accessed for service or replacement. A 4A fast charger fills the battery in approximately 2.5 hours. Aventon claims up to 70 miles of range; real-world testing in low assist on varied terrain has returned 55–56 miles.
Tektro two-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors handle stopping. The 6061 double-butted aluminum alloy frame pairs with a rigid aluminum fork and 700 x 38c urban tires. Integrated front and rear lights with rear turn signals are included standard.
The Soltera 3 ADV is available in four frame sizes (Small through X-Large) to fit riders from 5’1″ to 6’4″, supports a maximum payload of 300 pounds, and is UL 2849 certified. No fenders or rack are included; a compatible front rack is available separately from Aventon.
The Aventon Soltera 3 ADV is available in Matte Midnight Black, Sterling Silver, and Matte Storm Blue and retails for $1,499 at aventon.com. It comes with free shipping, a 14-day return window, and a 2-year warranty. Aventon has 1,800+ authorized dealer locations for in-person service and test rides.
