Velotric Discover 3 Commuter eBike
The Velotric Discover 3 is the third generation of Velotric’s best-selling commuter platform, adding an air suspension fork, a suspension seatpost, a 730Wh battery, and five new color schemes.
The Discover 3 runs a 750W rear hub motor with 1,100W peak output and 75 N·m of torque, paired with SensorSwap for toggling between torque and cadence sensor modes. The bike has five pedal assist levels plus a throttle, which brings the top speed to 28 mph in Class 3; Class 2 at 20 mph ships as default, with Class 1, 2, 3, and a custom mode all accessible via the display or Velotric app.
The 48V 15.2Ah (730Wh) battery is IPX7 rated and UL 2271 certified with Samsung/LG 21700 cells, and carries a claimed range of up to 80 miles on pedal assist and 65 miles on throttle. NFC card unlock and Apple Find My / Android Find Hub integration are standard.
The ComfortMax system is the Discover 3’s defining design focus. An 80mm air suspension fork with 32mm stanchions, adjustable air pressure, rebound adjustment, and lockout replaces the coil spring fork on earlier Discover models and handles front compliance on both pavement and mixed terrain. A suspension seatpost absorbs rear road vibration for longer-distance comfort. The ergonomic dual-density breathable saddle and adjustable alloy stem round out an upright, comfort-focused riding position.
Tektro 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors and motor cutoff sensors handle stopping. The drivetrain is Shimano 8-speed with a 46T narrow-wide chainring and 11–40T cassette on a Novatec 15x110mm thru-axle rear wheel. The Discover 3 rolls on Kenda 27.5 x 2.4-inch eBike puncture-resistant tires on double-wall aluminum alloy rims.
A 500-lumen integrated LED headlight, rear lighting system with brake indicator and turn signals integrated into the MIK HD rear rack, aluminum fenders, and the rack itself (66 lb capacity, MIK HD click-system compatible with child seats and panniers) are all included standard.
The bike weighs 61 pounds in Regular and approximately 66 pounds in Large with accessories, and supports a maximum payload of 440 pounds. It is available in step-through only in Regular (fits ~5’2″–5’11” with seatpost, 4’11″–5’9″ without) and Large (fits ~5’9″–6’7″ with seatpost, 5’6″–6’4″ without).
